Adventures by Disney is expanding its river cruise operations in 2020 by adding the Rhone River to its options.

There will be six trips through southern France out of the 27 that Adventures by Disney has planned throughout Europe.

Disney started its tour operations in 2016 on the Danube and later it added on the Rhine River in 2017 and this year, the Seine River. In 2020, the line plans to sail all four rivers by 2020 and 10 out of the 27 sailings will be dedicated as adults only.

“These special adult voyages complement our selection of guided family vacations and have been meticulously curated to meet increased demand among adult travelers for Adventures by Disney’s unique blend of sophistication, variety and fun,” said Terri Schultz, senior vice president of Adventures by Disney.

There will also be new 2020 short two-night immersion trips in Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest, Hungary that can be added onto the river cruise trips or even taken on their own.

Disney’s partnership with Amawaterways with APT means the cruises will be hosted aboard the AmaCello, a 144-passenger vessel built in 2008. The seven-night trips will take travellers through the region of Provence and destination stops will include in Lyon, Tournon, Avignon and Arles.

There are planned activities for these sailings like kayaking beneath the 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct, Pont Du Gard, or interactive culinary excursions like truffle hunting, cheese and jam making or visits to olive farms, wineries and chocolatiers.

Another one of the special shore excursions include a visit to the town of Roussillon which is famous for its Ochre Trail where you can walk along the orange-hued cliffs. You can learn how to paint as part of the trip.

For 2020, another six sailings will be offered on the Seine River on board AmaLyra, with four family-friendly summer trips and two adults-only trips, one in September and one in October. Itineraries that begin and end in Paris include stops in French cities Giverny, Vernon, Le Havre, Conflans and Rouen.

There will be nine seven-night Rhine trips on the AmaMora and six of those will be between May and August with the first in May, an adults-only option. There will also be three food and wine cruises just for adults in September or October and cruises will visit France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.

And the line will even have a special Oktoberfest voyage in late September and a family friendly Christmas market cruise in December aboard the AmaLea.
