AmaWaterways with APT has just christened its newest ship, The AmaDouro, to sail on the Douro River and she embarked on her first journey earlier this month.

The ship has 51 staterooms, most with outside balconies so guests can enjoy the rolling hills and vineyards along with Douro River Valley.

Amenities include a panoramic lounge where there is nightly entertainment, a heated sun deck swimming pool, a fitness room, a massage room and regionally inspired dishes and wines which will be served in the main restaurant.

She joins her sister ship, AmaVida which also sails on the Douro between Porto and Vega Terron. The AmaDouro will offer guests seven-night roundtrip itineraries and she is the first of three new ships that will be added to the fleet this year.

The other ships making their debut includes largest river ship in Europe, the AmaMagna which will be sailing on the Danube and the AmaMora sailing on the Rhine.
