Avalon Waterways is introducing more flexible dining times aboard its European river cruises from 2019, giving passengers the option to eat whenever they want.

The program will mean more open hours for the main dining room as well as more two-top tables for couples.

For those who want to dine on the Sky Deck, there will also be food available upon request.

Managing Director Pam Hoffee told Travel Market Report that guests can really personalise their river sailing.

“The introduction of FlexDining in 2019 is just one of the many ways we’re inviting guests to cruise their way with Avalon Waterways,” said Ms Hoffee

“Showcasing our open-air balcony and beds facing the incredible views is the number one-way travel agents market Avalon; and for 2019, they can invite their clients to customize their cruise to their own unique style, taste and pace with Avalon Choice® of excursions and our new FlexDining program, which provides a variety of times and places guests can enjoy meals.”

Avalon will also be offering picnic lunches for guests who want to take their lunch offshore during the day so they can explore without coming back to the ship.

The line also announced earlier this year it would be offering its guests a choice between Classic, Discover and Active options on all sailings.
