Passengers in a Facebook group have shared emails from Viking, saying the cruise line has cancelled river sailings on the Yangtze through till June.

According to social media facebook group Viking River and Ocean Cruising Friends, passengers who have pre booked cruises in China with Viking Cruises have received direct emails from the company today, advising them of the cruise cancellations due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

According to the email – which has been re-posted online by members of the facebook group, Viking has allegedly made the decision to adhere to current World Health Authority advice and has cancelled China River Sailings through to June 2020 and will affect all river sailings through the Yangtze River.

A copy of the email is posted below, with details of the options pre-booked passengers can select including discounts and offers for alternate Viking cruises in 2020.

Any pre-booked passengers with the affected cruises can contact Viking River Cruises before February 14, otherwise bookings will automatically cancel and a full refund will be issued within 14-21 days.

Cruise Passenger will continue to monitor this situation and has contacted Viking River Cruises for a comment.
