Europe’s water levels on the Danube are high – especially east of Budapest, according to reports from the area. But parts of France are awaiting the rains.

“There has been phenomenal rain and the Danube River is full of logs from upstream,” Cruise Passenger European correspondent and travel editor Sue Bryant reported for River Cruise Passenger last night.

“Same story with the rivers that feed the Danube”.

Ms Bryant said the captain of the Viking ship she travelled on maintained water level was fine and there were many ships sailing.

However, a look at riverinfo.eu, some parts of the waterways are still awaiting their seasonal rain.

In Australia, Viking has become one of the first to post updates on water levels.

It’s website reports today:

“All Viking itineraries are currently sailing on schedule.

“We always want our guests to feel that they have the most current information about their journey. Should changes be required, we will notify guests on affected sailings directly.”
