The boutique private boating company, Le Boat has recently acquired Scottish-based West Highland Sailing just last week.

After its owners Ray and Mary Norris retired, Le Boat has acquired 10 of Highland Sailing’s 13 bespoke yachts.

The Norrises started West Highland Sailing in 1982 and is based in Laggan in Scotland and provide boating holidays on the Caledonian Canal.

Le Boat will continue trips along the canal, one of the nine destinations the company operates in.

According to Cheryl Brown, the managing director for Le Boat, the company has experienced long term growth in Scotland, with a five percent increase in visitors this past year. With Le Boat’s acquiring of West Highland Sailing, the Caledonian Canal team will “continue as normal.”

Le Boat operates on the canals of Europe and Canada’s inland waterways and has more than 900 self-drive boats in in nine different countries from 39 departure bases.

Meanwhile, River Cruise Passenger had over 11,000 entries in the Le Boat competition. Follow our Facebook page for updates and the announcement of the competition winner.
