Deals are flying off the shelves from river cruise lines across Europe, with up to 20% discount incentives for the upcoming season.

River cruise numbers are holding up well, with forward bookings in much better shape than ocean lines, where many have received cancellations because of the coronavirus spread.

Kathy Pavlidis, from Travel Associates, says she has observed a rise in Aussies heading to river cruises across Europe year after year.

“Absolutely, river cruising is still on the rise for Australian passengers. Christmas market river cruising has never been so high as it is right now. And that’s a personal favourite,” she said.

But to ensure a good season, there are some strong deals available from the luxe lines to the leisurely.

Reduced deposits, amazing flights, on board spending and simple cuts are on the table.
