Asian cruise line, Heritage Line will be launching a new vessel to sail the picturesque Halong Bay.

The line, which sails on several waterways across Southeast Asia has revealed details around its newest vessel, the Ylang, which will sail in Lan Ha Bay in North Vietnam.

The ship will be a beautiful blend of Asian-Vietnamese design with French-Colonial accents – a true meeting of East and West.

The Ylang will be the only cruise in the region offering a wellness theme onboard a dedicated three-day, two-night voyage into the more remote and less visited areas of the bay.

The vessel’s interior emanates the ancient flair of Indochina with a delicate floral leitmotif inspired by local poetry and related to the four seasons of the year. Local artisans contributed to Ylang’s decoration with hand-crafted paintings and artwork. All this creates an inimitable sense of bliss and an exceptional abode at sea.

Ylang has only ten spacious suites on two decks – each room has large floor-to-ceiling panoramic doors which open onto a outsized balcony. Room sizes range from 40sqm for the six Signatures Suites and 50-54sqm for the four Regent Suites on the upper deck. These Regent Suites are all individually designed and the front facing ones feature a Jacuzzi on their balcony. Luxury room amenities include tailor-made furnishing, a sofa lounge, a large bathroom with walk-in shower and a bathtub or Jacuzzi (equipped with a special soda water spa treatment system), dressing table and mini bar.

The Ylang will also have an expansive spa area, inclusive of a sauna and steam bath room. There will also be sunrise Tai Chi lessons as well as yoga classes offered in a dedicated studio. For guests looking for a more intimate experience, there will also be a private in-room spa treatment available, or if you want to perfect your downward dog, you can take private yoga lessons.

To unwind and soothe those muscles, the ship comes complete with an infinity-like heated Jacuzzi pool on the terrace deck. There is also a cozy indoor library lounge and a Indochinese-styles restaurant with an adjacent bar so you can talk about the days events with your fellow travellers.

On the culinary side, Ylang offers Vietnamese and international gastronomy focusing on a healthy stay during the cruise. Breakfast in the privacy of the suite can be served to enhance the stay.

Apart of the spa theme Ylang’s itinerary is another particularity. Heritage Line is delighted to be the only cruise line offering a dedicated 3-day/ 2-night’s journey named “Senses of Lan Ha” into remote areas of Lan Ha Bay. Experiences for guests comprehend leisure cycling and hiking on Cat Ba island, a visit of local floating fishing village and also one half day “at guests’ own pace and choice” to choose from activities such as swimming, kayaking or wellness offerings onboard.

The cruise starts and ends at a pier on the small island Cat Hai near the city of Hai Phong (approx. 1,5 hrs drive from Hanoi). Private and shuttle transfers are offered by Heritage Line.

The ship’s first voyage is on August 17, 2019 and Heritage Line is offering a 20 per cent discount with fares starting at $589 per person, twin share.
