Luxury on the Mekong River – with the rise of Asian river cruise, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise has released renderings of its latest ship, the Mekong Jewel.

It’s one of the lines’ three new super ships, and she will be entering service in 2020.

The all-suite ship will be one of the most luxurious on the Mekong River and will have the same capacity as Uniworld’s Mekong Navigator.

But she will be 33 feet longer and she’ll offer more space and amenities including an al fresco eatery on the upper deck so guests can enjoy the sites of one of Southeast Asia’s most famous rivers.

The all-suite Super Ship will include two dining venues, and she’ll be constructed with sustainably eco-friendly materials. The hull will be coated with a special paint that creates less drag and she will also have energy-efficient propellers, LED light fixtures as well as water-cooled air conditioning system.

Guests onboard will also be able to enjoy a swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam room, gym, hair salon, nail bar, two lounges and a library.

The Jewel will sail 13-day itineraries from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, with visits to Phnom Penh and Angkor Wat among other ports of call.

In 2020, Uniworld also will launch the S.S. Sphinx on the Nile (sailing out of Cairo) and the S.S. Sao Gabriel on Portugal’s Douro River. In addition, the Venice-based River Countess will be renamed S.S. La Venezia after a total renovation.

The Mekong Jewel will be replacing Uniworld’s exisiting Southeast Asian ship, the Mekong Navigator.
