Uniworld is running two unique itineraries in Venice for 2021 – including a brand new super ship matched with luxury train journeys.

Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Line President and CEO, Ellen Bettridge announced the itineraries will go on sale this later this month with the brand new super ship S.S. La Venezia,  ready for cruising in 2021.

The unique added element of the journey however, will also include an exclusive partnership with luxury train line Golden Eagle Luxury Trains, exclusively reserved for Uniworld guests booked with these itineraries. The two packages will travel through Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia; offering the opportunity to travel across several countries in one journey, combining major cities with little-known destinations.

The train journeys are five-star and all-inclusive including all transfers, meals, drinks, excursions and gratuities, and all accommodation categories include a private in-suite bathroom.

“Like river cruising, luxury train travel is an opportunity to bring our guests to the heart of Europe and with a view that changes daily. Train travel is a trend where we are very much at the forefront and are thrilled to be using this opportunity to broaden Uniworld’s horizon’s and explore new destinations,”  said Ms Bettridge.

The two new Venice itineraries include:

12-day Cruise & Rail: Venice & the Swiss Alps

The journey starts with a 3 night Golden Eagle luxury train trip from Zurich to Venice followed by a round-trip cruise onboard super ship S.S. La Venezia.

The itinerary provides guests with a new opportunity to travel onboard the luxury train as it runs along the Lake of Zurich stopping in destinations such as the medieval town of Lienz, the picturesque Lake Bled with a Pletna rowing trip to Bled Island, and Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

14-day Cruise & Rail: Milan, Venice & the Swiss Alps

Starting with a land portion in Milan, then boarding a round-trip cruise on the new super ship S.S. La Venezia in Venice and finishing with the luxury train journey to Zurich.

Excursion highlights on the train journey include a visit to Gutenberg Castle in Balzers, Liechtenstein; and enjoying an evening with a private concert in the caves of Postojna.

Apart from one small local ship, Uniworld will also be the only ship to dock at Burano, renowned for its colourful homes and lace-making ateliers.

The price is $3639pp with the current offers. See below for the added extra offers.

Four new super ships

In addition to the S.S. La Venezia for the above itineraries, Uniworld is this year also adding three more super ships to their fleet, totalling 20 ships for the line in 2020.

From enhanced dining venues and additional suites to a grand staircase and state-of-the-art amenities, a ship becomes a Super Ship the moment she redefines the term “unsurpassed luxury. It’s not necessarily about the size, though Uniworld’s Super Ships do accommodate an average of 150 guests each. Uniworld’s one-of-a-kind, award-winning ships are floating boutique hotels, complete with handcrafted furniture commissioned exclusively for Uniworld, bespoke design schemes reflecting the destinations they visit and original artwork from world-renowned artists.

The S.S. La Venezia

The redesign of S.S. La Venezia will be inspired by Venetian culture and feature six elegantly appointed suites including two new Grand Suites, three dining venues including an Italian kitchen on the upper deck, spa, library, lounge and bar.

Travel from dynamic Milan to romantic Venice and treat yourself to a once-in-a-lifetime private evening opening and lighting ceremony at St. Mark’s Basilica, exclusive to Uniworld guests an avoiding the crowds.

The S.S. Sphinx

Egypt is another destination where Uniworld has seen an increasing demand, with travellers searching for a luxurious journey along the infamous Nile river. In 2021 Uniworld will provide guests with two ships to choose from for the popular 12-day Splendours of Egypt & The Nile itinerary, onboard the River Tosca or the brand new S.S. Sphinx (launching in 2020).

The S.S. Sao Gabriel

Portugal is proving to be a popular destination for Australian river cruisers. The new S.S. Sao Gabriel aims to be the newest and most luxurious vessel in Portugal for 2021. There will be an additional al fresco dining option.

The Mekong Jewel

This new Mekong Jewel super ship will be an extra 10 metres in length – but will host the same number of passengers, so essentially provides a greater element of space. The suites on board will be larger than Uniworld’s previous ships and will have an extra dining venue added.

New itineraries for 2021:

In 2021, Uniworld has added two more exciting new itineraries to their product line up.

The 8-day Classic Germany & Amsterdam aboard the River Princess, cruises along the Main River from Amsterdam to Nuremberg (and reverse on some departures), taking in the best of the serene villages, renaissance architecture and medieval towns.

Uniworld has combined this new itinerary with its popular Authentic Danube to create a new grand itinerary, the 15-day Rhine, Maine & Danube Discovery. From Amsterdam all the way to Vienna, this itinerary cruises along the scenic Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, appealing to guests looking for an in-depth exploration of Central Europe’s quaint villages, exquisite castles and colourful cities.

The itineraries were created with sustainable tourism in mind, seeking to impact the destinations positively by bringing guests to eat at local restaurants and experience hidden-gem villages in addition to the popular cities.
