Uniworld River Cruises will offer passengers a new range of unique and innovative food experiences including progressive dinners, farm-to-ship meals and alternative dining this year.

The progressive dinners on board its Super Ships, will take guests to a different part of the ship for each course, starting with appetizers served in the galley and ending with dessert served on the top deck. Menus will vary depending on the chef, destination, season and region.

The line’s alternative dining option offers guests the chance to cook a unique meal with the ships’ chefs.

On SS Joie de Vivre, passengers will create a seven-course meal at the ship’s restaurant La Cave du Vin making foie gras, lamb de Provence and regional desserts.

Abroad the River Countess at the ship’s Italian restaurant L’Osteria, passengers will learn how to cook Italian antipasto, al fresco pizza, breadsticks and more.

Uniworld has also introduced al fresco dining on the top deck on five of its river ships including River Empress, River Princess, River Duchess and River Queen. Room service is also available on board the ships, giving guests the flexibility of eating their meals wherever they choose.

Uniworld ships choose their food and beverage menus based on the regions they sail through. Meals are created with meats and vegetables sourced from the regions the ships visit. The line’s bars also take their cue from the local region serving craft beer, special cocktails inspired by the destinations and wine from nearby vineyards.
