Flying to Europe can be expensive when you’re adding the cost of air tickets on top of the price of your cruise. Uniworld earlier this week announced it would be offering its guests free flights on all European river voyages.
But Uniworld is not the only that offers have special deals throughout the year.
Other lines like APT, Scenic, Evergreen, Avalon Waterways and Viking River cruises often throw in return flights or have itineraries on sale for a small extra fee for those air tickets.
But a tip from us, make sure you sign up to the river cruise lines newsletters if you’re looking for free flights as some, like Avalon Waterways, hold their offers earlier on in the year.
But we’ve found you some fly free deals and we stack them head to head.
The line earlier this week announced it would be relaunching its Fly Free to Europe offer for 2019 voyages. Guests will get complimentary economy airfares when they book a 2019 European voyage. For an extra $3,999 per person, guests can upgrade to business class. The only catch is that this offer only lasts for the next three weeks and started on October 15 and will expire on November 2018.
The Australian river cruise line often offers Fly Free offers to its guests on select European river itineraries. For example, you can hop aboard an 11-day Paris to Paris cruise along the Seine and visit some beautiful landmarks. With the starting price from $7,795 per person, twin share including flights, that’s a pretty great deal. Or you can cruise on an 11-day Bordeaux to Bordeaux and fly from just $95.
Viking River Cruises
With the largest fleet on the European waterways, Viking River Cruises has free flight deals until November 30, 2018. Guests can try the iconic Amsterdam to Budapest, or reverse, starting from $5,995 per person, twin share departing on November 6, 2019. Pretty sweet deal when you think about it – flights, food, accommodation, shore excursions and even wine and beer at lunch and dinner.
Evergreen Tours, the sister brand to Scenic, has a fly free offer on its Splendours of Europe cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. Visiting sites like Cologne, Miltenberg, Passau, Vienna and Bratislava, the price starts from $8,620 per person, twin share, it includes some activities like guided bike tours around Amsterdam and you’ll be treated to a traditional Hungarian Folklore Show. Wine and beer, like Viking, is only served at lunch and dinner.
The luxury brand also has many fly free offers on its cruises. But it’s 15-day Amsterdam to Budapest cruise is priced from $7,095 per person twin share. But APT offers some exclusive shore excursions like a journey on the Grand Empress Steam Train to the Gödöllő Palace, a dinner at Namedy Castle and a private classical concert. The price also includes all beverages served onboard at any time as well as butler, room service and complimentary laundry for select suites.
